What to do?
Register by 30 June 2020 and enjoy free cover until 30 September 2020.
How to register?
You can register in two ways:
- By signing up on the CABS mobile banking platform using *227#
- Or by sending an email to freecover@oldmutual.co.zw with the following details included in the email: Name and Surname, Date of Birth, ID number, Cell phone number, Health trade, city/town of location
Is there a registration cut-off date?
Yes there is. The registration deadline has now been extended to 30 June 2020.
Sign up by then, to get free cover until 30 September 2020.
Which Healthcare Professionals are covered?
The offer is available (but not limited) to:
- Doctors (Junior, Senior, Medical Specialist)
- Nurses (including students)
- Nurse Aids
- Laboratory specialists
- Emergency Medical Technicians
- Pharmacists registered with the Ministry of Health and Child Care.
How long will I be covered?
Your free cover is valid until 30 September 2020. However, you can continue enjoying cover if you opt to pay for your own premiums after the free cover period.
When does the benefit pay out?
All eligible members will receive accidental and COVID19 related death benefit immediately after signing up. Death due to natural causes will be covered after a 3-month waiting period.
How will my beneficiaries receive their money when they come to claim?
At point of claim, the beneficiaries will receive a benefit of your basic annual salary, excluding allowances. The basic salary will be based on the government/public hospital pay scale. Should you require higher cover you can top up the free cover at discounted rates.
Can my family also claim for this the free cover?
Your family can register a claim via the CABS mobile banking platform using *227, or via email on contactus@oldmutual.co.zw.
What if I also want the rest of my family to be covered?
You can also sign up for an individual policy and sign up the rest of your family by registering via CABS mobile banking platform using *227#, and we will have a Financial Advisor call you back about your needs.
What if I already have an existing life/funeral policy with Old Mutual. Should I cancel it?
We encourage you not to cancel it. The free life cover available to Healthcare Professionals when they sign-up, will be additional cover on top of your existing policy.
